A flap text or blurb is the promotional description of a book that is printed on the inside cover or back cover of the book. The flap text is a positive introduction to the book that should excite readers to buy and read the book. Often the flap text includes a brief biography of the author.
Movies and music albums also often have a blurb printed on the back or inside.
