CO2-neutral
CO2 neutral means that, on balance, there are no CO2 emissions.
CO2 or carbon dioxide is a gas released from the combustion of fossil fuels such as gasoline, natural gas and coal. Carbon dioxide occurs naturally in the atmosphere but under human influence the concentration present has increased significantly. This causes the earth to lose the heat that comes from the sun to space, causing the earth's temperature to rise. This greenhouse effect is a major cause of climate change.
The term CO2 neutral is especially common in travel (for example, by air or public transport) and on various products. It means that CO2 emissions from transportation or production have no impact on the climate. Since CO2 emissions are unavoidable in most cases, this is generally done by offsetting CO2 emissions by planting trees or by investing in projects that will reduce CO2 emissions elsewhere.
