Autoresponder
An autoresponder is a standard message sent automatically via e-mail in response to an incoming e-mail message. An example of an autoresponder is a vacation message.
For example, the content of the automated message could be a notification that the recipient is not currently present. This type of notification can be set through the e-mail program or hosting provider.
Autoresponders can also include more dynamic content. For example, a ticketing system that handles incoming e-mail inquiries will send a confirmation e-mail that the e-mail was received and include a ticket number for further reference.
