Vacation message
Also called: absence message or out of office message
A vacation message is an automatic response to an e-mail message that the addressee is not present at that time, such as due to a vacation. The message often includes the date when the addressee will be present again and what alternative contact options exist in the interim.
This type of autoresponder can often be set up in the e-mail program used or through the hosting provider.
