Stakeholder
Also known as: stakeholder
A stakeholder or interested party is a person or a body that can directly or indirectly influence a company, the introduction of a product or service or decision. These persons can be seen as shareholders although this person's share cannot always be expressed in money or in legal papers. An organization can have an interest in a stakeholder but a stakeholder can also have an interest in the company. So the two parties are linked. This is a construction that can arise in mergers, corporate acquisitions or in cases where the capital of new investors is used.
Different types of stakeholders
Every company has stakeholders. Therefore, different types of stakeholders can be distinguished. First, of course, there is the owner with whom an organization has an interest. In addition, investors, important suppliers, influential customers or employees who hold important positions within the company are considered (direct) stakeholders. Indirect stakeholders may include neighbors or other parties in the environment. The influence on of the various stakeholders on a company and its operations can be quite different.
