Out of home
Also called: OOH, outdoor advertising or outdoor advertising
Out of home advertising includes all advertising that a consumer may encounter outdoors. This includes all forms of outdoor advertising. It usually involves places in public areas that are visible from public roads or where there are many visitors or passersby.
Some examples of out of home marketing:
- Advertising signs such as sandwich boards and store signs
- Advertising at stations and airports
- Advertising in bus she lters (bus shelters) and on buses and streetcars
- Posters in waiting areas and waiting rooms
- Billboards along the highway
- Digital out of home (DOOH) or narrowcasting
Most out-of-home advertising is aimed at generating brand awareness or drawing attention to a campaign. In any case, out of home falls under above-the-line.
