Signboard
A signboard is a form of facade advertising in which a billboard is placed perpendicular to the front of a storefront or commercial building. This makes the sign easy to read for members of the public walking, biking or otherwise passing by the street.
What does a signboard look like?
A signboard usually consists of a sign with text and may have lighting. The entire sign can be illuminated, or just the letters (as in neon advertising).
In the past, not (only) the business name was mentioned, but the book was often formed by an image or symbol. For example, a pretzel at bakeries, a cleaver at butchers and scissors at barber stores.
Business card of a company
The word signboard can also have a more figurative meaning. A company's signboard can also be a person who, as the organization's business card, ensures a good image.
