A Record
An A Record (Address Record) translates a domain name (hostname) to an IPv4 address. An IPv4 address is a traditional IP address consisting of four numbers. An example is the IPv4 address 1.2.3.4, but each digit can be between 0 and 255 before, between and after each dot. There are multiple types of records present within a domain name's DNS zone. Domain Name Servers(DNS) keep track of which IP number belongs to which Web site name. But what do you use A Record translations for? We're going to explain that to you in this blog.
Create A Record
First, let's look at how to create an A Record? First, you need to log into your hosting provider's customer portal. There are several hosting package providers you can use if you don't already have one. Then to set up an A Record you take the following steps:
- Go to 'Domain and hosting'
- Choose "DNS management" or "DNS forwarding management.
- Edit or create a new A Record, this is often easily found on the screen
- Enter the IP address and click 'add'
- After one to four hours, the (new) A Record is activated

To do this you need to get the IP address of the hosting package. Use this
