"Compliance" in Dutch means compliance. It ensures that an organization adheres to and complies with the laws, regulations, standards and ethics guidelines within its operations. These include self-imposed internal policies as well as external legal requirements. Within many companies, there is a compliance officer who keeps track of all of this.
Compliance is important for companies to avoid legal penalties, reduce reputational damage and maintain honest business practices. It also helps companies manage risk and build trust with customers.
