Well, that reason is very simple.
Spotify is paid and not everyone has it.Therefore, you want your podcast to not only be on Spotify, but also on all the other major previously mentioned podcast channels. This will make your podcast available to a much larger audience.
But putting your podcast on Spotify with Anchor.fm has even more reasons. Namely, it is much easier and faster to put your podcast on Spotify with Anchor than if you do it directly through Spotify.
This I tested and timed ;-).
And by the way, in case you were wondering: Anchor.fm is a product of Spotify.
Before you can distribute your podcast through Anchor.fm, you must of course create an account. This is as easy as you are used to from other programs. You create your account using the following link:
Ps. In case you are curious about what a filled Anchor.fm account looks like, click here: https://anchor.fm/danielkuipers.
If you have created an Anchor account, you can complete your profile. This information is very important because Spotify (and the other channels) take it over. Think about:
Once you've completed your profile, it's high time to put your first podcast (on Spotify) online.
Here we go! We're going to pop your (first) podcast online in just a few minutes.
Inside Anchor, click on "New Episode" in the upper right corner.
I assume you already have the podcast all finished and ready to go. In that case, drag the podcast to the block where it says "Your Episode.
Once you have done that, you can click 'Save episode' at the top right.
Then enter the name, description and all other information of the episode and click 'Publish now'.
And that simple is putting your podcast online on Spotify. You can do this with no prior knowledge and it costs you nothing.

Dear,
Can you also give some info on how much you earn from a podcast on Spotify? What are the terms and conditions?
I'm not currently earning anything from the podcast, and that's not my objective. My objective is building my personal brand. So I can't help with this unfortunately.
