Digital Nomads
Digital nomads are people who can carry out their work anywhere in the world because they work independently of location and use the Internet to do so. This group of people often travels a lot and changes their permanent residence regularly. In this respect, digital nomads have a flexible way of earning money. They can work worldwide and have also created a lot of freedom for themselves with regard to how they want to live. The rationale behind this lifestyle is often that digital nomads do not want to be stuck and do not want to feel constrained by structures, laws and regulations. In digital nomad is often not a resident (and thus deregistered) in the Netherlands. Therefore, this group of people is no longer tax liable in the Netherlands and there is no question of paying social security contributions in our country.
Difference between digital nomad and global nomad
The terms "digital nomad" and "global nomad" are sometimes mistakenly confused in popular parlance. After all, a global nomad is someone who performs work on location but this work does not necessarily have to be digital in nature. In addition, the work is often more location-specific and involves a local employer.
